Privacy Policy

I value your privacy as much as I value a good composition. Because this site is built and hosted by me, I have full control over your data, and I’ve made the conscious choice to collect as little of it as possible.

1. Data Hosting

This website and its analytics are self-hosted on a private server located in Switzerland. Your data never leaves Swiss jurisdiction and is never shared with third-party advertising platforms like Google or Meta.

2. Analytics (Umami)

I use Umami, an open-source, privacy-centered analytics tool, to understand how visitors interact with my photography.

• No Cookies: Umami does not use cookies and does not store any information on your browser.
• No Personal Tracking: It does not collect personally identifiable information. Your IP address is hashed and anonymized to create a temporary "session ID" that allows me to see unique visitor counts without knowing who you are.
• Respect for "Do Not Track": If you have enabled "Do Not Track" in your browser settings, my analytics script will not load for you at all.

3. Data Collection & Purpose

I only track general, anonymous metrics such as:

• Which photo albums are the most popular.
• The types of devices used (to ensure my photos look good on all screens).
• The countries my visitors are coming from.

This data is used solely to improve the content and performance of this blog.

4. External Links

My footer contains links to my Instagram, LinkedIn, and Email. If you click these links, you will be taken to external platforms. Those platforms have their own privacy policies, which I do not control.

5. Your Rights

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP) and the GDPR, you have the right to know what data is being processed. Since I do not store identifiable data, I cannot "find" your specific records to delete them, but I am happy to answer any questions you have regarding my setup.
